Positive Reviews

Recommended for those who want to relax quietly and take their time.

I have personally visited about ten times, and it has never been overcrowded, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing soak at my own pace. There is also a resting area where you can unwind after your bath. Even though it is located in the city, the quiet and atmospheric outdoor bath is especially my favorite.

The facility is very clean and well-maintained.

From the moment you enter, you are welcomed by a stylish space that evokes the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese ryokan, and you can immediately sense its cleanliness as well.

I enjoyed delicious Kyoto cuisine at the restaurant inside the facility.

It is a Japanese restaurant where a traditional ryokan-trained chef prepares seasonal dishes using fresh, local ingredients.

The facility is available for both day-use visitors and overnight guests. I have dined at the restaurant many times myself, and I highly recommend it for those who want to experience authentic Japanese cuisine.

For day-use visitors, lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (last order at 2:00 p.m.), so please be mindful of the time when planning your visit.

Conveniently located near the station.

It takes about 10 minutes on foot from the nearest station. While it may not be considered extremely close, it is still within a comfortable walking distance.

The day-use bathing fee is slightly on the expensive side.

Although the day-use fee may seem slightly high, it is reasonable considering the overall quality of the facility. In fact, the slightly higher price helps prevent overcrowding, allowing guests to enjoy a quiet and relaxing bathing experience.

If the price were lower, it would likely attract more visitors and become crowded. Those who are simply looking for a quick place to wash up or sweat may feel it is a bit expensive.

For overnight stays, however, the facility is highly rated for its excellent cost performance. It is one of the top-rated ryokan accommodations on TripAdvisor, so I would recommend not only visiting for a day bath but also considering an overnight stay for a more complete experience.

I had difficulty finding this bathing facility.

If you plan to visit, be sure to use Google Maps or a similar navigation app. The facility suddenly appears as you walk through a residential neighborhood, so first-time visitors may find it a bit difficult to locate.

It takes about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by train and on foot, so I would say the overall access is quite convenient.

The location was not very convenient.

Since it takes only about five minutes from the nearest station, Tambaguchi Station, to Kyoto Station, I would not say the location is bad at all. It is about a 10-minute walk from the facility to the nearest station, which I believe is still within a reasonable and acceptable distance.

Of course, if you choose a hotel or ryokan within walking distance of Kyoto Station, the location may be more convenient. However, you are unlikely to find a bathing facility of this quality in such a central area.
